.NET Framework, COM and Excel Development

Besides the actual library assemblies, applications developed with Connectivity Software require that the software described below is present on the target system.

.NET Framework - you need (at least) one of the following:

• .NET Framework 4.7.2
• .NET Framework 4.8
• .NET Framework 4.8.1

Note that

• .NET Framework 4.7.2 is included with Windows 10 version 1803 (April 2018 Update), version 1809 (October 2018 Update), Windows Server versions 1803 and 1809, and Windows Server 2019.
• .NET Framework 4.8 is included with Windows 10 version 1903 (May 2019 Update) and later.
• .NET Framework 4.8.1 is included in Windows September 2022 Release (Version 22621).

.NET 8+ Development

.NET 8, 9

If you are using a framework-dependent deployment (FDD), it is necessary that proper version of .NET 8, 9 is installed on the target system. If you are using a self-contained deployment (SCD), there are usually no deployment prerequisites other than using a supported operating system and hardware.

Python Development

For Connectivity Software applications in Python, you need either the .NET Framework, or .NET 8+. Refer to the paragraphs above for more information.
